The Leopard wood Tree grows Tall and straight with heights of 150ft with a trunk diameter of 48". The beautiful character comes from the Flaky, speckled figure with dark flecks, which vary from a small lacelike pattern to a larger splashy figure. This wood has a pinkish-brown to medium brown color with a moderately coarse even texture. It matures to a brownish color with age. It is very difficult to turn with great detail because the rays on quarter sawn Leopard wood may tend to tear out. This wood finishes to a soft lustrous look. The finished product always has a very interesting look. This lumber is vary difficult to find but the effort is well worth it.
